Why Jonathan Sacked Inspector-General of Police + The Profile of The New IG, Solomon Arase
President Goodluck Jonathan today sacked the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba.
Abba’s sack was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati.
Impeccable sources told GoldmyneTV that President Jonathan relieved Abba of his appointment because of his perceived relationship with the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.
Abba was present when the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, presented the certificate of return in Abuja.
The Presidency perceived that the sacked IGP worked against the interest of President Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 28 and April 11 general elections.
It was learnt that the President had security report on Abba’s relationship with the top echelon of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Another source said the IG was sacked because of his failure to do the bidding of the President and his party, the PDP.
Ironically, the sacked IG took side with the president and the PDP in the crisis that engulfed the House of Representatives. He even failed to recognise Speaker Aminu Tambuwal as the speaker.
President Jonathan has also appointed Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase as Acting Inspector-General of Police, also with immediate effect.
Solomon Arase, the new Acting Inspector General of Police, was, until his appointment, the Head of the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department,
The apex intelligence gathering arm of the Nigerian police, the Force CID is the only arm of the police that provides Intelligence on Crime and National Security.
Mr. Arase, 59, was born on June 21, 1956. He hails from Oredo Local Government Area of Edo state
He enlisted into the Nigerian Police on December 1, 1981 after graduating from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1980, with a degree in Political Science.
A lawyer, Mr. Arase also has a Bachelor of Law degree and Masters of Law from the University of Benin and University of Lagos respectively.
He attended the Nigerian Law school and was called to the bar in 2000.
He also has a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the University of Ibadan.
Mr. Arase has served in various commands and formations of the Nigerian police, including being the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State.
He was also an Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Bureau.
He served at the United Nations Mission in Namibia and is a Fellow of the Nigerian Defence College.

“Celebs Not The Illuminati, They Don’t Have That Kind Of Power’- Kanye West
In an essay he wrote for Paper magazine, the same magazine that helped Kim K break the internet, Kanye West said he’s tired of the notion that celebs are controlling society as members of the secret group, The Illuminati. He said celebs don’t have that kind of power.
“I heard a comment — a joke — about the Tidal press conference being an Illuminati moment. If there was actually an Illuminati, it would be more like the energy companies. Not celebrities that gave their life to music and who are pinpointed as decoys for people who really run the world. I’m tired of people pinpointing musicians as the Illuminati. That’s ridiculous. We don’t run anything; we’re celebrities. We’re the face of brands. We have to compromise what we say in lyrics so we don’t lose money on a contract. Madonna is in her 50s and gave everything she had to go up on an award show and get choked by her cape. She’s judged for who she adopts. F**k all of this sensationalism. We gave you our lives. We gave you our hearts. We gave you our opinions!”

This is why their culture is different from ours; even if a woman allow you do this, once you know she is no longer single, you should not touch it at least out of respect for her husband.
